Townhouse Restaurant & Wine Bar has entered into a 10-year lease for the 6,710 square foot ground floor retail space at 700 Sixth Street, NW, in DC's East End. The contemporary urban eatery is expected to open in the Spring of 2012.
Townhouse is one of seven restaurant concepts created by Restaurants-America, and has three existing locations in the Chicago and Los Angeles areas.
Bill Miller and Alex Walker of TransWestern, along with Akridge's Ben Meisel and Greg Tomasso, represented the building ownership in the lease. Restaurants-America was represented by Ashley Schneeman of Sierra Mid-Atlantic.
Akridge developed the LEED Platinum 700 Sixth Street in 2009, and sold it to USAA earlier this year. Akridge continues to provide leasing and property management for the building, which is now more than 95% leased with only a small amount of office space remaining available.

The restaurant, which offers a large selection of small plates, sandwiches, salads and entrees, will serve lunch and dinner daily, as well as offer space for private events.
"We've seen a variety of restaurants gravitate to this area around Gallery Place and the Verizon Center," said P. Brian Connolly, Senior Vice President of Akridge.
